A crash earlier this morning involving a truck and bus on the N3 near Colenso in KwaZulu-Natal left about 45 people injured.
Four of the patients are in a serious condition.
N3TC’s Chief Operating Officer Thania Dhoogra says rainy weather conditions are continuing to be reported on the N3 route between Cedara in KZN and Heldeberg in Gauteng.
“These conditions may result in wet and slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility and require that motorist exercise extra caution when out on the roads. Almost 900 vehicles per hour have been recorded heading in a northbound direction towards Gauteng in the past hour. Motorists are reminded of their shared responsibility towards the road safety of all road users and that crashes can have far reaching and long-lasting impact of many more people than just those directly involved in the crash,” cautions Dhoogra.
