Australia’s Cummins, Hazlewood ruled out of ICC tournament

Australian cricket captain, Pat Cummins and his fellow fast bowler, Josh Hazlewood, have been ruled out of the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy tournament in Pakistan.

Cummins and Hazlewood are nursing an ankle and hip injury respectively.

Australia was forced to make four changes to their preliminary squad.

All-rounder Mitchell Marsh is also nursing an injury, while all-rounder, Marcus Stoinis announced his retirement from one-day internationals with immediate effect.

Stoinis wants to focus on T20 cricket. The eight-team Champions Trophy tournaments gets underway on 19 February when the hosts take on New Zealand in Karachi.
