A stunning goal was delivered by Venezuelan midfielder, Darwin González of Cape Town City in just less than 10 minutes as the second half started.
This Wednesday, Cape Town City move up to eleventh and take on Orlando Pirates, who are second on the log with Sundowns at the top.
Polokwane City, Sekhukhune United draw 1-1
Elsewhere on Sunday, Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United drew 1-1 in their first encounter at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The hosts managed to maintain their good run of form as they extended their unbeaten record to four matches on their home soil, while the visitors failed to record their third consecutive win in the Premiership League.
The Limpopo derby between Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City started a bit cagey when both teams struggled to find their rhythm and get used to the slippery conditions at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
As the rain continued to pour, Polokwane City was seen slowly picking up its pace.
At this point, there were plenty of chances presented to both teams to score but still failed to put it in the back of the net.
Polokwane City’s midfielder, Raymond Daniel made sure to apply pressure aggressively, towards the visitors to deliver the first goal of the match.
Just shortly after that, Tresor Tshibwabwa delivered a wonderful header to deny the hosts a chance to take the lead.
The hosts brought some waves into the second half but the visitors just could not stop denying them the chance to score.
Polokwane City are third in the log with 22 pts — 5 points behind Orlando Pirates who are second on the log.
Their next game will be with Supersport United who played to a one-all draw with Stellenbosch last month, where they will be looking at earning three points.
