Cargo truck movement has resumed at the Lebombo Port of Entry with Mozambique after being suspended for several days due to post-election protests in Mozambique.

The protests led to the cancellation of more than 13 000 tourism bookings in Gaza province.

Truck drivers are advised to be cautious when traveling in Mozambique. They are also advised to ensure that they have enough water, fuel and food.

A Mozambican national weighs in on the issue, stating “The protesters are using trucks to block the road. They have removed them for now but they may close it again later. Some have told us that it may be closed again soon.

“So we don’t know if it is true or not. Our government must fix the situation. Even the one who wants to rule the country cannot fix everything at once. FRELIMO must fix the situation,” he says.
