As thousands of beachgoers flock to various Cape Peninsula beaches to enjoy themselves as part of New Year celebrations, the City of Cape Town says it is applying a no-nonsense approach to those who bring in alcohol to the seaside.
The City’s Metro Police Chief, Wayne le Roux, says they want to ensure that beachgoers and visitors are safe this holiday season.
He briefed the media on their festive season approach at the Muizenberg swimming pool complex.
Le Roux says they have thus far confiscated about 6 000 bottles of alcohol.
