Betway Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns have pleaded for football fans to arrive early at the stadium for the much-anticipated clash against bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs in Pretoria.

Tickets for Saturday’s match were sold out on Monday.

The match will be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville due to the unavailability of Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Sundowns, who enjoy a 15-point lead at the top of the log, will go into the match as overwhelming favorites against 8th-placed Amakhosi.

The game kicks off at 15h30, and organizers say there will be special train services operating on match day.

“You know, the game of this kind will definitely have a lot of people coming to watch the game and we are looking forward to making sure that everything goes according to plan, and we avoid any possible negative impact on the game. Tickets are sold out as everybody knows and we encourage everybody who doesn’t have tickets, (not to) come to the stadium (and rather) to watch on SuperSport or SABC. It’s going to be live. And make sure that those who have tickets come early like I said earlier. But those who don’t, there will be no tickets sold at the stadium to avoid this element of false tickets sold at the stadium,” says Tiyani Mabunda, Mamelodi Sundowns Brand Ambassador.

Prasa Group Marketing’s Zipho Mlambo, says they will be providing train services to transport fans.

“We will be providing a train service on the people’s train to make sure that people get to the stadium on time. So, our service will cover all areas in the Pretoria area. So, we have a service that comes from the devout corridor, which covers your areas such as your Ga-Rankuwa, Pretoria north, right up into Pretoria, as well as a line coming from Mabopane, which also then covers Soshanguve, and as well as from the Pienaarspoort corridor which covers your Mamelodi areas,” says Mlambo.
