A fingerprint expert is today expected to testify in a trial within a trial of one of the accused in the killing of two South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) leaders in Limpopo.
The expert will determine whether a thumbprint on a confession statement belongs to Percy Radzuma in the High Court in Thohoyandou.
The Radzuma siblings, Simon, Percy and Ndivhuwo are being tried for more than 40 counts, including the murders of Samwu leaders, Timson Musetsho and Ronald Mani.
Musetsho and Mani strongly opposed the Vhembe District Municipality’s investment in the defunct VBS Mutual Bank.
Judge Thogomelani Tshidada adjourned the matter yesterday and ordered the state to get the services of a fingerprint expert.
Percy is expected to call two witnesses to testify.
He has denied making the statement and says the thumbprint is not his.
Accused number two in the killing of two SAMWU leaders has told the Thohoyandou high court in Limpopo that he was brutally assaulted two days before he was ordered to sign a document.
