Motorists in the Free State say they would like to see more traffic officers on the roads this festive season.

They added that the visibility of officers promotes road safety leading to the province registering fewer fatalities.

The Free State Departments of Community Safety, Roads and Transport together with Health, launched the Provincial Festive Season Road Safety Campaign with a major roadblock on the N1 just outside of Bloemfontein.

Some motorists commented.

“It’s a very good thing to see what is happening it makes me feel safe. I travel a lot as a sales rep and I am impressed and I would like to see this more often.”

“I’m so happy and excited we are going to Bloemfontein and the reason I am excited is because it’s my first time. I do feel safe because we are putting on our seat belts.”
