A 37-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of her husband.

Police Spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says the 42-year-old husband was shot and killed on New Year’s Day.

Mophiring says police were patrolling the Naledi section of Bohlokong in the Free State for crime prevention purposes when they came across the body of a man lying in the street with bullet wounds on his face. The motive behind the murder is not yet known.

He says the victim was identified by his family.

The motive behind the murder is not known yet and the wife is set to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrates Court on Monday on a charge of conspiracy to murder.
