The extreme weather conditions pose a risk of heat-related illnesses, such as cramps, exhaustion and heat stroke.
To guard against this, residents are advised to stay indoors, keep hydrated and avoid direct sunlight.
The City’s EMS will remain on high alert to respond to emergencies and provide support to those affected.
“Residents are urged to stay hydrated, drink lots of water, stay in cooler places, avoid direct sunlight especially between 11am and 3pm in the afternoon as exposure to that extremely hot weather can lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion and stroke,” says EMS’ Robert Mulaudzi.
