Life insurance murders in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape are on the rise.
This is according to the National Commissioner of Police Fannie Masemola who is part of the road safety operations on the N2 in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.
Masemola says the South African Police Service (SAPS) have partnered with Nelson Mandela Bay Metro to investigate the increase in violent crimes in the municipality.
“There is a new trend in Gqeberha of insurance murders which seems to be coming quite popular here. Since we started the cooperation agreement with the metro, we have picked up this. There is one woman who has already been arrested for killing her own son, she has been sentenced to 25 years.”
