AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has cited reasons beyond his control for his decision to call off the traditional wedding ceremony to Nomzamo Myeni who was to become his third wife.

The King has ordered that all benefits including the security assigned to Myeni be revoked in two hours’ time.

Myeni was previously referred to as the Queen as the King has paid lobola for her.

In another development, the King has fired his spokesperson Prince Simphiwe Zulu.

Recent media reports have also revealed the suspension of the Ingonyama Trust Board by the King.

Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform also said it needs to tread very carefully when dealing with the fallout between the Ingonyama Trust Board, and the AmaZulu King.

Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform Mzwanele Nyhontso briefed the committee and said the situation has reached a crisis point.
