The Kruger National Park (KNP) has activated its Disaster Management Team due to flooding caused by prolonged rainfall, damaging some of its infrastructure.

The Park reports that several main gravel roads between Skukuza and Lower Sabie are affected and have been temporarily closed.

Park spokesperson, Ike Phaahla has urged road users in the Park to adhere to the road closures.

“Tour operators, tourists, plus drivers within the Park are requested to be patient and extra vigilant during this period. No entry signs have been placed across roads which are not drivable and must not be removed. We are grateful that no casualties have been reported thus far and urge visitors to check with reception on the latest information regarding road closures. The situation is being constantly monitored.”
