Lamola to open magistrates court in a rural village

The village of Bhityi is one of few in the Eastern Cape that have a fully functional police station. Where others have to dig deep into their pockets to travel to the nearest town to report cases, the citizens of Bhityi and surrounding areas access police services closer to home, mostly by foot.

In what is set to boost the delivery of justice right where people live, the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola, will open the brand new magistrates court building in Bhityi on 25 October.

The court, which started operating in August, has been roundly welcomed by the residents of Bhityi and surrounds.
