Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane says the government has handled the current water crisis especially in the City of Johannesburg, the same way it managed loadshedding.
Maimane briefed the media in Johannesburg on the work of the party in Parliament and Gauteng this year.
The City of Johannesburg is currently facing a water crisis which has seen residents go without water for days as a result of the ailing water infrastructure.
Maimane says the government is handling the water crisis dismally.
“The truth is they are handling the water crisis the same way they handled the electricity crisis. That movie is going to be the same. That movie is a movie of … at first you start with water shedding,” says Maimane.

Maimane says the party will continue to fight against the bloated government cabinet. There are currently 32 ministers and 43 deputy ministers appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa after the 29 May elections.
Maimane says the government can do away with deputy ministers.
“We are the only party today, fighting for the reduction of cabinet. I think we don’t need deputy ministers and in fact if you had to streamline it further, it is not rationalising of ministries only. It is ensuring that your budget is aligned to the staff you get,” he says.
