More than 800 suspects have been arrested in Limpopo over the past week for their alleged involvement in various crimes.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says the suspects were arrested for robbery, attempted murder, assault, GBH and damage to property in all five districts.
The police were in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies when they carried out roadblocks, stop and searches, and vehicle and premises searches.
Ledwaba says the suspects will appear in various courts in the province.
“The operations further resulted in the confiscations of 136 liters of alcoholic beverages, a variety of drugs, dagga, 45 ammunition, counterfeit goods, 13 dangerous weapons, four firearms, and 467 packets of tobacco products. The Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Limpopo commended the police and other law enforcement officials for their relentless efforts to ensure the safety and security of Limpopo communities,” Ledwaba says.
