The South African Football Association (SAFA) confirmed on Sunday morning that one of Bafana Bafana’s most loved legends, Philemon Masinga, passed away.

Safa President Danny Jordaan declared the passing as a sad day for the football family.

Masinga will always be fondly remembered for the goal he scored which took South Africa to the first ever World Cup in France ’98, just a few years after readmission to Fifa.
