Police at Lebombo Port of Entry have intercepted a stolen SUV trying to cross into Mozambique this afternoon.
The vehicle had two occupants and one of them fled the scene and the driver tried to run away but was apprehended before he could cross into Mozambique.
Police are on high alert for any corrupt activities at the border post.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Mozambican nationals continue to cross at the Lebombo Port of Entry in Komatiport, Mpumalanga heading back home.
This is ahead of tomorrow’s announcement of the post-election results dispute by Mozambique Constitutional Council. Some of the travellers, especially motorists, claim that they have been in the queue since this morning. Some of the motorists shared their frustrations.
“I’ve been in traffic about at 8am till now. I don’t know when I’m going to cross into Mozambique, the traffic is still blocked down there, very tired this traffic is too much.”
