Polokwane City cemented their place in the top eight after an emphatic 3-1 win over Richard Bay FC in Polokwane. City remain sixth on the Betway Premiership log after registering their 9th win of the season.

This was sweet revenge for Rise and Shine after they lost the first-round encounter to Richards Bay in Durban last month.

Polokwane City broke the deadlock in the 20th minute through defender Lebohang Nkaki from a corner, with his first goal of the season.

The home side led 1-nil at half-time. Eswatini international Justice Figareido found the equaliser seven minutes into the second half after connecting with a cross from the left.

But Mokibelo Ramabu restored City’s led a few minutes later. Bafana Bafana forward Oswin Appollis was brought down inside the box and City were awarded a penalty.

Nkaki made no mistake from the spot sending the keeper Salim Magoola the wrong way to make it 3-1.
