President Cyril Ramaphosa has honored athletes who successfully represented South Africa at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The President has lead celebrations of South Africa’s medalists at a ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. President Cyril Ramaphosa has honored athletes who successfully represented South Africa at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The President has lead celebrations of South Africa’s medalists at a ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

The ceremony has recognized the excellence demonstrated by top athletes as well as the organizational effort by the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee to prepare Team South Africa for the Games.

Ramaphosa has thanked the athletes for their unwavering commitment.

“This is a moment of great pride for our nation, it’s a moment to express our gratitude and we thank you for giving us that opportunity as Olympians because you have represented our nations with such great distinction and commitment on the international stage. When we saw you our hearts were filled with absolute joy as you filled our hearts with joy and pride. Today we are celebrating the spirit of Africa and the power of sport to unite us”.
