Commuters in Johannesburg will need to find alternative transport again this morning as Rea Vaya bus services remain suspended until further notice.

The suspension follows the fatal shooting of two bus drivers in separate incidents in Soweto on Monday evening. One driver was shot in Mapetla, and another was killed in Protea Glen, with both incidents occurring within 10 minutes of each other.

The drivers were shot multiple times by unknown armed men.

Rea Vaya has urged commuters to seek alternative transportation while investigations into the shootings continue.

The suspension has disrupted public transport services in the city, leaving many passengers stranded.
