The Garden Route National Park has won big at the 18th annual Kudu Awards, taking home nine awards.

The Kudu Awards recognise those who help make SANParks a global leader in conservation.

The Garden Route National Park, which stretches from Wilderness to Tsitsikamma, was named the best performing region, the Tsitsikamma section scooped the best park award and the Ebb-and-Flow Rest Camp in the Wilderness won in their category.

Francis Marais and his family are regular visitors to the camp.

“We love it because it is close to home and it is very child friendly. It is almost like a free-range farm for our children. Water activities, just exploring the surrounding areas, walkways, getting to know some bird species and canoeing, so it is all a good combined fun package.”
