A School Governing Body (SGB) member has been arrested for contravening a protection order that the school obtained.

Parents of learners at Tsebe Ntlha Primary School in Hammanskraal north of Pretoria are at loggerheads with the school principal over fee payments.

Despite it being a no-fee paying public school, parents allege that they are paying fees for registration, stationery and other expenses.

An investigation by the Gauteng Education Department led to her salary been docked for two months.

This parent, who wants to remain anonymous, says seven other arrest warrants have been issued for other SGB members at the school.

“SGB members getting arrested at this present moment, one member already in police cells for allegedly breaking protection order rules. Members of the community and parents are now mobilizing heading towards the Temba police station to seek for answers and know exactly the reasons why their member is being arrested for fighting corruption in their school.”
