Currie Flats in Quigney was on fire on Wednesday afternoon. At the time of writing it could not be established if all residents managed to evacuate. A resident could be seen precariously sliding down the three-storey building away from a fire billowing out of a top-floor apartment.

As soon as news of the fire spread, social media users posted some of the most hilarious comments about the fire, thanking everything from dogs to pigs for the fire. Apparently the building is a well-known den for druglords and other criminal elements, allegedly from Nigeria.
