The mood is sombre at the Anglican Church at Rocklands in Bloemfontein where friends, family and colleagues of Constable Boipelo Senoge have converged for her funeral service.

Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and the National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola as well as Free State Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae, are also attending the funeral.

Senoge is one of the three police constables whose bodies were retrieved from the Hennops River in Centurion in Pretoria last week.

The officers went missing on 23 of April.

They were last seen at a petrol station while on the way to their deployment area in Limpopo.

Senoge died a few days before her 24th birthday.

She would have turned 24 on 5 of May.
