Three individuals accused of kidnapping a 51-year-old businessman and demanding a R15 million ransom are set to appear in the Louis Trichardt Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo.
The victim, who was abducted in October 2024, was found unharmed at a house in Nkuzana village on Friday after being held captive for 100 days.
Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba confirmed the arrests of the three suspects, who were apprehended in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
Mashaba says, “Police say twelve suspects have been arrested to date in connection with the kidnapping of the prominent businessman. Other arrested suspects will appear on the 3rd of March for a bail application.”
“The victim had been kidnapped for 100 days when he was found,” notes Mashaba.
Police are continuing their search for two more suspects linked to the case.
