Two people have lost their lives while three others sustained injuries when their vehicle lost control and crashed, causing an accident on the N2 near Van Stadens Bridge in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

The injured passengers were rushed to different hospitals around the area.

Spokesperson for the MEC of Transport Makhaya Komisa says, “It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle and overturned. Transport MEC Xolile Nqatha urges motorists to reduce speed and drive cautiously. MEC Nqatha has conveyed his sincere condolences to the grieving families and wished the injured passengers a swift recovery.”
