Two suspects have been killed in a shootout with police in Inanda in the north of Durban.
In a statement, KwaZulu-Natal police say they were acting on information from the community about the suspects they believed were responsible for house robberies and other crimes in the area.

Police say this led them to the suspects inside a house and when they announced their presence, the suspects opened fire on them.
The suspects were also found in possession of two firearms.
One other suspect was arrested.
Police have confirmed that preliminary investigations have established links between the suspects and the Inanda West Gang.
