The trial of murder accused, Reinhardt Leach, who is accused of orchestrating and carrying out the murder of his girlfriend, Vicky Terblanche, has been remanded until the 6th of March in Gqeberha.

The state alleges that Leach was hired by Vicky’s estranged husband, Arnold Terblanche, to murder her amid a contentious divorce and custody battle.

The two face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Arnold has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him and will be tried separately later this year.

The state and defence have concluded their cross-examination of murder accused Leach. Leach denied smothering Vicki Terblanche to death in October 2021.

He has, however, agreed that he had more interest in getting Vicki killed than his co-accused Dylan Callis but denied smothering her.
He also spoke about a gun he originally purchased to kill Vicki but how this gun was never used, when a plan to rather drug her, became an option.

Leach also stated that besides the gun to kill Vicki, he also wanted to buy several firearms to sell because he also desperately needed money.
