Air support has been called in to waterbomb a fire on the slopes of the Paarl Mountain in Boland in the Western Cape.

Cape Winelands Fire spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto says fire crews from Paarl and Stellenbosch are on the scene.

She says they’re being supported by two helicopters.

“The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services have responded to a fire on the slopes of Paarl Mountain. Fire crews and vehicles from the CWDM’s Paarl and Stellenbosch stations are in attendance, assisted by Drakenstein Municipality’s Fire Brigade.”
